v. 绊脚
stumble v. strike one’s foot against sth. and almost fall 绊脚 = trip
In her hurry she stumbled and spilled the milk all over the floor.
她匆匆忙忙，所以绊倒了并把牛奶撒了一地。
stumble over / on … = trip over / on … 在……上绊了一下
Vic stumbled over the step as he came in.
vic在进来的时候绊倒在台阶上。
stumble across / on / upon … to find sth. or meet sb. by accident 偶然发现或遇到…… = come across …
We stumbled across him at the mall.我们在市场上偶遇了他。
